Once Human Gravity Abyss Update: Fixes, Rewards, and What Players Should Know
Once Human Visional Wheel S4: Gravity Abyss update addresses Aerial Hunt lag, improves Riftwalker Relics, and boosts rewards for players.
Recently, the team behind Once Human has been sorting through a mountain of player feedback tied to Visional Wheel S4: Gravity Abyss. The response covers everything from Aerial Hunt lag to confusing Riftwalker Relics, and the developers have not held back in admitting where things went wrong. They also announced a round of compensation for all players on June 3. It was a direct acknowledgment that the launch did not meet their own standards for stability and overall experience.
The compensation package includes Gravity Crystal ×1,000, Abyssal Core (Epic) ×1, Gravity Abyss Deviation Selection II ×1, and Downstar/Aero Mod Crate: Nightmare I ×5. Those crates contain mods from Nightmare difficulty dungeons, which should be helpful for anyone chasing better gear.
🛠️ Aerial Hunt Gets Smoother and More Rewarding
The Aerial Hunt mode was hit hardest at launch. A huge number of players joined at the same time, and the server performance optimization simply was not enough. That led to lag and crashes. The developers say load optimizations have been made to help ensure a smoother and more stable experience. It is also worth noting that map teleportation to Aerial Hunt may be temporarily disabled when too many players are participating. Players can still travel to the corresponding Stronghold manually to join the fight.
There were also rare bugs where Riftwalkers became stuck or rewards disappeared and could not be claimed. Those issues have now been fixed. The live server environment can still be complex, so the team will keep monitoring the Riftwalker experience and adjust as needed.
Rewards in Aerial Hunt have been increased based on player feedback. That includes more Gravity Crystals, Deviations, and Mod Crates, along with a higher drop rate for Abyssal Cores. On top of that, personal objectives have been adjusted so that players only need to meet the required damage threshold to receive the personal reward. No more racing around for extra objectives just to get the baseline loot.
Balance adjustments for Riftwalkers also went live on May 29. Their HP has been slightly reduced, making them easier to defeat. Enemy difficulty in the Endless Dream and Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve scenarios has been optimized for this mode as well.
🎁 Legendary Mod Crate Pity Progress Fixed
Mod pity systems can be confusing, especially when players are not sure what counts toward progress. The developers clarified that mods obtained from Pro difficulty or higher content count toward Legendary Mod Crate pity progress. This rule also applies to Visional content that meets the same difficulty requirement.
In Visional Wheel S4, completing Phase 5 of Aerial Hunt or Gravity Integrator gameplay now counts toward that same Legendary Mod Crate pity progress. The mods obtained from these modes will also include Visional keywords. Stronghold exploration mods and Echoite mods still do not count because those modes are lower in difficulty.
Players who triggered pity in Aerial Hunt before this fix but did not receive a Legendary Mod Crate with a Visional keyword will be compensated. The team plans to review the data and send one Legendary Mod Crate with a Visional keyword to those affected within five business days.
To support character progression, a Downstar/Aero Shiny Mod Random Crate is being added to the Visional Redeem Shop on June 2. It can be redeemed up to two times per month and costs 15 Abyssal Essence each. The existing Downstar/Aero Shiny Mod Random Crate, which was a one-time purchase available twice, will remain and will not be removed.
🧭 Riftwalker Relics Get Clearer
Riftwalker Relics were originally designed around observation and exploration. The idea was for players to locate Echoite locations on the map, find the crate, complete a combat challenge, and then use different Tech tools such as Energy Raisers, Floating Aerogel, or flight vehicles to reach the final reward. In practice, many players found the objectives, pacing, and reward path unclear.
Several changes are coming. The Echoite Crate's ascent speed has been reduced, and it now stays at its highest point longer. A fix is in progress for Echoites getting stuck in terrain or buildings, with an announcement planned once it is complete. On the June 10 update, the Echoite Crate's visual effects will be improved to make it easier to spot. Enemies tied to Echoites have HP based on the level of the area where the Echoite lands. The developers recommend choosing areas that match the player's current level when exploring and claiming these rewards.
💎 Gravity Crystal Cap and Resource Changes
Gravity Crystals are the core item for this Vision, and many players were frustrated by the current cap. The weekly cap has now been raised to 10,000. After reaching that cap, acquisition efficiency drops to 50% following the current decay rule.
The number of Gravity Crystals obtainable from Star Advent Loot Crates and Unstable Aggregates has been increased. The chance of obtaining Legendary Mod Crates from Unstable Aggregates has also been raised. Star Advent Loot Crates will now have a higher chance to drop Energy Raisers and Floating Aerogel, giving players with different playstyles more ways to gather resources.
⚠️ Unstable Aggregate Spawn Fixes in Progress
After investigation, the developers found that in rare cases, Unstable Aggregate spawn points in certain settlements may behave abnormally. This can cause Unstable Aggregates to be visible inside a weightless area but not appear correctly after leaving it. A fix is being worked on, and updates will be shared through an announcement once it is complete.
There were also reports that Unstable Aggregates sometimes do not refresh for long periods of time. Unstable Aggregates in weightless strongholds are intended to refresh once per hour. The team is investigating and fixing abnormal refresh intervals as well, and will notify everyone as soon as the fix is complete.
🌌 Why Not Weightless Everywhere?
One common question from players is why weightlessness is not applied to the entire map now that Visional and Normal Worlds are separated. The developers explained that gravity changes have a major impact on basic controls. If weightlessness covered the entire map, it could create too much adjustment pressure for some players, especially those trying the mode for the first time. For now, weightlessness is focused in specific strongholds where it is tied to exploration and combat. Players who want to experience weightless movement outside settlements can still do so through formulas such as the Energy Raiser.
The team is still reviewing feedback about item usage feeling cumbersome, too few reward points, and weightless areas feeling too small. They are exploring improvements such as increasing the Energy Raiser's duration. Once confirmed, adjustment plans will be shared in advance.
🧬 Mutagen Drop Fix and Shop Addition
The developers also fixed an issue where Mutagens were not dropping properly in the Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve scenario. An Aberrant Progeny Mutagen Selection has been added to the Redeem Shop - Gravity Crystal Shop. Players can redeem it for 1,500 Gravity Crystals, making it easier for those who need it to obtain one. Only Morphed Deviation Mutagens from the Visional Wheel will be added to the shop. Other Mutagens must still be obtained by playing Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve.
Overall, the development team is continuing to fix bugs and improve the experience based on player feedback. They encouraged players to keep sharing their thoughts through official feedback channels and in-game Customer Service. The apology felt sincere, and with these changes already rolling out or scheduled, many players are hopeful that Gravity Abyss will finally feel as good as it should.
